Information and Communication Mobile (Siemens mobile) launches its
latest handset, the compact and trendy A55, today at 3GSM World Congress
in Cannes, France. Offering polyphonic ring tones, exchangeable Clipit
Covers and extended talk time at a budget price, it is an easy-to-use
phone which makes a stylish statement.
Petite, light and easy
to use, the A55 weighs a mere 84 grams. Stylish too, with a sleek chrome
ring finish and available in two new shades – Garnet (red) and
Biscaya (blue), the A55 is always in style with the latest trends.
With hands free speakerphone and central scrolling key for ease of
navigation, the A55 allows the user the complete freedom to communicate.
Peter Zapf, President of Mobile Phones within the Siemens Information
and Communication Mobile Group, said: “The Siemens A50 is a real
hero product – it was one of our biggest selling mobile phones
to date. We want to build on its phenomenal success with its successor,
the A55. It is smaller, and trendier, and has some new features. We
think it will be massively popular in emerging markets, such as those
in South East Asia.” The A55 offers polyphonic ring tones
(four are pre-installed), as well as images, sounds and animations
for EMS (Enhanced Message Service) communication. There is also a Calling
Faces feature, which lets users identify callers at a glance by attributing
pictures to each phone book entry. Thanks to a WAP 1.2.1 browser, A55
owners can download further images, sounds and animations directly
on to their phone from the Siemens mobile web community www.my-siemens.com/city. Besides
a multitude of fashionable CLIPit Covers the A55 is available with
a wide range of additional Siemens Original Accessories including stylish
carrying cases, a choice of different chargers, such as Desk Top Charger,
Travel or Car Charger and convenient car solutions like the Car Kit
Portable, the Basic Car Pack or the portable Headset PTT. The
